Amazing product
I bought a pair of these for my wife. They are a Christmas gift so she has not used them yet. The plan is to use them as a stereo pair in her sewing room. If they work OK, I will likely get another couple of pairs.
I broke my big toe when my dog accidentally pulled the power cord on our 1st Gen Alexa and it fell and landed on my toe. OWWW!!! Alexa died as well...sigh...While nursing my now purple-colored extremity, I did some research and found the 4th Gen Alexa Echo has been seriously improved over the original. So... without hesitation, I ordered as we can't live without our companion, Alexa.One-day delivery and setup was a total breeze. Great sound as compared to the original with excellent bass notes in music. Responsive and learned our voices for naming within a few minutes. Everything else exactly as hoped for and new features activated.The only thing that I wish the latest version had copied is the volume control dial of the 1st Gen. Not really an issue, but this one is not as easy to manage volume quickly.Nevertheless, I find this new generation Alexa to be near perfect...faster, better sounding, and highly responsive. It's an easy FIVE STARS for us, along with my honest and hearty recommendation. Amazing sound very impressive job, don't like the new light on the bottom hard to see.
We bought the new Echo to replace an old hockey puck style Echo Dot that we had on the back patio. For the old one, to get good sound we had it connected to a sound bar which is also connected to a TV we have on the patio wall. The new Echo has a great look, in my opinion, and we bought a swivel wall mount and mounted it on the patio wall near an outlet and it works great. The speakers are much better than the old Echo so we don't have to have it connected to the sound bar. The sound is really good coming from the unit itself.We have lots of things that we control via our Echo devices - lights, roller shades, water fountain, robot vacuum, TV, etc., and as soon as I added this new Echo to the devices via the Alexa app it was seamless. Everything works as it should. We love it and are very happy with the purchase.
